OTTAWA, ON — Two Ottawa paramedics rushing an ill patient to hospital weren’t fazed when they became trapped in an elevator.
The paramedics had just wheeled the patient, who was suffering from severe low blood pressure, from his 11th-floor apartment into the elevator.
As the paramedics worked to re-establish the man’s blood pressure with intravenous fluids, the elevator suddenly stopped at the fifth floor.
The local fire department was called in, but paramedics said the situation was under control, and they continued treating the man until a technician fixed the elevator.
Within half an hour, the paramedics were back on their way to hospital.
The man, who was said to be in his 60s, is reported to be in stable condition.
