ST. GEORGE, Utah — An ambulance on the way to a hospital flipped Thursday near the Arizona border, injuring its crew.

The ambulance from Colorado City, Ariz., was carrying one patient and four crew members and was on its way to Dixie Regional Medical Center in St. George. About 4:30 p.m. the ambulance was traveling west on State Road 59 when its right front tire burst, said UHP Trooper Cameron Roden.

The ambulance ran off the right side of the road and traveled down a ravine. Three crew members were injured, with one suffering a broken shoulder, one a broken foot and another unspecified injuries. The patient had moderate injuries, but Roden said he did not know if the injuries were from the ambulance wreck.
