CHICAGO — Maybe his middle name will be Ike.
Quick work from a transportation crew early Tuesday helped a woman in labor get to a hospital just in time after the car she was in blew a tire on the Eisenhower Expy.
Officials received a 911 call about 12:30 a.m., Illinois State Police Master Sergeant Joe Stangl said.
An IDOT crew and an ambulance headed to the scene and found the vehicle near Independence Boulevard. IDOT workers changed the car’s tire fast enough for the couple to continue driving to an area hospital where the woman had a baby boy, Stangl said.
