CLEVELAND — An EMS supervisor was fired after an investigation into a Facebook post that included provocative comments about Tamir Rice.
FOX8.com reported the Cleveland mayor’s office confirmed EMS Captain Jamie Marquardt has been terminated in connection with the Facebook post that surfaced on his account last month.
“Tamir Rice should have been shot and I am glad he is dead. I wish I was in the park that day as he terrorized innocent patrons by pointing a gun at them. I am upset I did not get the chance to kill the little criminal (expletive),” the post read.
Later that day, another post was made on the Facebook account that said, “Someone picked up my phone and made some awful posts under my name. I want to apologize for those who thought it was me.”
Marquardt has not commented about the firing.
