BUFFALO, N.Y. — A paramedic is being hailed a hero after wrestling a gun from a senior home resident.
WKBW reported that the unidentified AMR paramedic was part of a crew that was trying to convince the 94-year-old man to go to the hospital for a psychiatric evaluation when the incident occurred.
Police said the man pulled a gun out of the pocket of his walker and fired a shot at a maintenance worker.
The paramedic then wrestled the gun away from the man and held him down until police could arrive.
No one was harmed in the incident, and police said it is unclear how the man got the gun inside of the facility.
No charges have been filed against the man at this time. The incident is currently under investigation.
