BROKEN ARROW, Okla. — Broken Arrow police say a man being taken to an area hospital broke through the window of an ambulance and fled from paramedics early Friday.
Officers say EMSA personnel activated an alarm signaling that they had a combative patient at the intersection of Elm Place and Albany Street around 2 a.m. Friday.
Paramedics told police the patient, 37-year-old Joseph Meyers, was armed with a knife and bleeding from the head. Around this time a citizen at a nearby Holiday Inn Express called police and said there was a man covered in blood and carrying a knife asking for help at the hotel.
