ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. — An EMT was reunited with a girl she helped save 18 years ago.
KRQE reported that Gabby Ferguson has been searching for the EMT who saved her ever since she was almost killed in a crash. Ferguson, who was ejected in the crash, was given CPR by Shelly Eiland.
“Words cannot describe how thankful I am, because I’ve got to do so much,” Ferguson told Eiland.
Eiland said meeting Ferguson was a rare opportunity to see how her work as an EMT made a difference.
“This has been unbelievable. Just amazing,” Eiland said.
Eiland was presented with the department’s “life saving award” during the reunion.
