LA CROSSE, Wis. — As the temperature outside rises so does the number of stray needles being found on the ground in La Crosse.
The La Crosse Fire Department says they’ve been getting several calls a day from people finding hypodermic needles in their neighborhoods.
The fire department saw the same problem last year. Firefighters say a lot of times people throw their used needles on the ground instead of disposing of them properly. These needles can carry a number of diseases and can be a safety hazard.
