MARYSVILLE, Ohio — A man was arrested for impersonating a firefighter after a crew responding to an EMS call found him inside the patient’s home.

NBC4 reported that firefighters responding to a medical call at a mobile home park found Tony Beverly, 18, inside the home with the patient. He was wearing bunker pants and carrying a fire department radio pager, according to police.

Police said Beverly lied about his name and said he was a volunteer firefighter. They also learned that he was a member of the Bokes Creek Fire Department, but was fired in 2016.

After Beverly was arrested, police said they found firefighter gear that was allegedly stolen during a break-in.

Beverly was charged with impersonating a firefighter and misconduct at an emergency.
