Two FDNY emergency medical technicians, one of them a Staten Islander, have resigned under threat of firings after officials learned they made an X-rated videotape of several of their patients while on-duty.

The EMTs, Kevin Edell, 40, of Greenridge, and David Campbell, 39, of Long Island, had made a 50-minute tape on the job several years ago that they showed to friends and colleagues for entertainment, according to a published report.

The footage included a scene where a prostitute goes topless, a prank where a drunk tips over after a medic taps him on the shoulder, a drunken homeless woman, one of the EMTs asleep inside the ambulance, and an intoxicated couple filmed at home during an emergency call, the New York Post reported.

Edell did not return a phone message seeking comment yesterday afternoon.

Campbell, a 17-year EMS veteran, and Edell, who has been with EMS for 14 years, are accused of making the tape when they were stationed at EMS Battalion 43 in Coney Island, according to the report.

It’s not clear when the FDNY learned about the tape, or how the duo got away with shooting the footage.

An FDNY press release said the two quit “under the threat of termination” on April 27.

“We believe this is an isolated incident,” said Fire Commissioner Nicholas Scoppetta in the press release.

“This Department will not tolerate the violation of a patient’s right to confidentiality.”
