Ind. paramedic’s case still in limbo

GFD staffer still on desk duty while state investigates her performance

GREENFIELD, Ind. — It’s been 12 weeks since Greenfield paramedic Theresa Rinehart was suspended from making emergency runs, and her place on the Greenfield Fire Department remains in limbo as a state investigation continues.

Rinehart was moved to an administrative post after her suspension, and Fire Chief Lewis McQueen gave her until Jan. 1 to resolve her differences with the overseer of emergency medical services in the county.

That deadline has come and gone, and McQueen has been forced to relax his deadline as he waits for a report from state officials.
