A wreck sent five people, including two emergency workers, to University Hospital yesterday after a Louisville EMS ambulance was hit at 26th and Duncan streets.
The ambulance was southbound on 26th Street about 2 p.m. with its emergency lights and siren on, witnesses told police. A Chevrolet Blazer that was westbound on Duncan hit it, police said.
The driver and two people who were thrown from the Blazer were taken to the hospital with serious injuries, said Officer Dwight Mitchell, a Louisville Metro Police spokesman.
