OKALOOSA COUNTY, Fla. — A paramedic helped a cop rescue a kitten who was trapped in a sewer well after a flood.

An Okaloosa County Sheriff’s Office Facebook post said the Ocean City Wright Fire Department was called after Cpl. Megan Hankins was approached about a kitten who was “struggling in the water after flash flooding that evening.”

A paramedic and Cpl. Hankins spent around 45 minutes rescuing the kitten, and the paramedic took it home for the night because it was “frightened, cold and wet.”

The kitten was later taken to an animal shelter where it “will be paired with a foster family until old enough for the paramedic to adopt her,” according to the Facebook post.
