CHARLESTON, W. Va. — A W.Va. woman allegedly stole an ambulance that was on a call Thursday.
Elizabeth Ann Lacy, 47, approached the medics who were on a call and asked for a ride. The medics told her that they were unable to because they were responding to a call, according to WOWKTV.
The medics then went into the patient’s home, and witnesses say that Lacy then entered the ambulance and drove off with the vehicle’s emergency lights still on.
Police were later able to track the ambulance to her home, where Lacy reportedly told them, “If they didn’t want it stolen, they shouldn’t have left the keys in it.”
Lacy is being charged with grand larceny and obstructing emergency personnel.
