The Staten Island Advance
STATEN ISLAND, N.Y. — An ambulance carrying a dialysis patient and a luxury sedan collided across the street from Staten Island University Hospital in Ocean Breeze this afternoon, landing eight people in the emergency room.
The ambulance, a Richmond County Ambulance Service vehicle, was pulling out of the Island Rehabilitative Services Dialysis Center, across the street from the hospital, at about 3:05 p.m. when it collided with an Infiniti G35 Sedan on Seaview Avenue, and flipped onto its side.
The ambulance, which had three personnel inside, was carrying the patient and his niece at the time of the crash, said Julie Ayad, assistant head nurse at Island Rehabilitative Services.
