CLOQUET, Mo. — An ambulance taking a patient to a northern Minnesota hospital Friday evening slipped off an icy road and into a ditch, where it rolled over, killing one person, the State Patrol said Saturday.
The ambulance was headed east on Hwy. 2 just north of Cloquet when it lost control just after crossing the St. Louis River Bridge at 7:30 p.m.
The ambulance sideswiped a westbound vehicle that had stopped on the shoulder before it clipped a guardrail and rolled into a ditch.
