SEDGWICK COUNTY, Colo. — A patient was killed and two EMS providers were injured after an ambulance rolled over on an interstate Sunday morning.
KDVR.com reported that a Sedgwick County (Colo.) Ambulance service unit lost control and rolled over almost two times. The patient they were transporting was killed and EMT Vickie Sandlin, who was in the back of the ambulance, was seriously injured. Another EMS provider, Lauren Putney, was treated and released for minor injuries.
According to authorities, the ambulance was traveling 20 mph under the speed limit and was encountering inclement weather when the crash occurred. EMT Sandlin was last reported in serious but stable condition.
The crash is under investigation.
