Fire shuts down N.C. rescue squad

Roseboro Rescue and EMS shifted operations after a fire destroyed a rig and damaged their station

ROSEBORO, N.C. — The Roseboro Rescue and EMS station in Sampson County was significantly damaged and one of the department’s vehicles was destroyed in a fire on Dec. 26.

A passing motorist called 911 to report a fire inside the building at approximately 11:30 p.m., WRAL reported.

There were no EMS personnel inside.

When firefighters arrived, they found one vehicle on fire. Damage from the fire has left the station unusable.

“Right now, the operation here in Roseboro has been shut down,” Chief Adam Pearsall said. “It’s been shifted to Clinton and Salemburg.”

Roseboro Rescue serves the communities of Roseboro and Salemburg, located in Sampson County.
