HOUSTON — Four people were sent to the hospital after a vehicle crashed into an ambulance en route to a crash scene Thursday.
ABC13 reported that it all began as a road rage incident between a couple, according to police.
Paramedics were responding to a crash involving the couple, who were in separate cars, when another car hit the ambulance from behind. The ambulance hit the guard rail and crashed into one of the vehicles from the original crash.
“There was already a police car on the scene, so I don’t know if he went around the police car to hit the ambulance or what the situation was with that but it looks like he was going freeway speeds because it was a pretty severe accident,” Sgt. JT Hall said.
The man driving the car that hit the ambulance was taken by LifeFlight to the hospital in serious condition.
Two paramedics were not injured, but were taken to the hospital as a precaution.
