CHICAGO — Two paramedics and a police officer were injured Tuesday when a vehicle crashed into an ambulance, according to officials.
ABC 7 reported that a Chicago Fire Department ambulance was transporting a patient with its emergency lights on when it was struck by an SUV that failed to stop at an intersection.
One paramedic was transported to the hospital in serious condition. A paramedic and police officer who were in the back of the ambulance were also transported to the hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.
The patient was transported in serious condition, according to officials.
Two other people in the SUV suffered non-life-threatening injuries and were transported to the hospital as well.
