WHITE SETTLEMENT, Texas — Five people were recognized at the White Settlement City Council meeting Tuesday for saving a stabbing victim’s life last month.
A standing ovation welcomed a dispatcher, Kelley Dennis, Officers Cook, Tibbitt, Banner and Senior Cpl. Ramirez for their teamwork on helping to save the life of a woman who was stabbed and crying for help, CBS DFW reported.
“They were tasked with a duty that not many would actually even dare to endeavor to complete,” White Settlement Mayor Ron White said at the meeting, according to CBS DFW. “And I just thank them every single day for what they do.”
On Nov. 20, Dennis answered the 911 call where a woman could be heard screaming but she couldn’t make out a specific location. She kept the woman on the phone while officers responded and honked their horns near the general location of the victim, according to CBS DFW.
Once Dennis could hear the honking over the phone, she led officers to the location by telling them when the horns got louder.
The officers located the woman and immediately gave her emergency medical treatment, which officials say saved the woman’s life, according to CBS DFW.
Police have not released the name of the woman but say they are still searching for suspect, who they believe to be 31-year-old Cesar Colin.
Police started first aid right away and saved the woman’s life. Suspect is still out there.
