NEW YORK — EMS dispatchers were left with no access to the 911 system while taking emergency calls for around 30 minutes Monday due to a network outage, according to FDNY officials.

NY Daily News reported that the 911 system was unavailable from 4 p.m. to 4:30 p.m. while technicians were conducting maintenance work, according to FDNY spokesman Frank Dwyer.

Dwyer said all calls were still answered and responded to, but information could not be entered into the system.

A cause for the network outage is currently being investigated.
