EASTON, Pa. — An Easton mother of two was so intoxicated last month while abusing a prescription drug, police say, that her 8-year-old son called 911 after she fell off her chair.

Kirsten E. Gaal was charged Monday with endangering the welfare of her children and providing false identification to police, and she was sent to Northampton County Prison under $12,500 bail by District Judge Richard Yetter.

According to court records:

Late Nov. 15, police were called by Gaal’s son to the family’s apartment on the 1200 block of Ferry Street. Officers found the 29-year-old woman with an “unsteady gate, slurred speech” and “very lethargic.”

Gaal, who has a second child who is 6, admitted taking Klonopin, an anti-epileptic drug, that was not prescribed to her, police said. She also allegedly gave officers a false name.
