CLEVELAND — A 4-year-old girl’s 911 call resulted in a frantic search to find her unresponsive mother.
FOX8 reported that the girl called 911 after her mother had trouble breathing. He told 911, “Mommy needs help,” but she didn’t know the address. Dispatchers questioned her about the house and asked if there was another adult present.
Police tried to track the signal from the phone and locked in a two-block range, but they still had to search door-to-door. The dispatcher asked the child to flip the porch lights on and off.
The phone went dead after 18 minutes, but dispatchers tried to call back for another 11 minutes before paramedics and police finally located the home.
The mother was taken to the hospital, and responders praised the girl.
“You did a good job. Good job, OK? Really good,” a police officer can be heard saying on a phone recording.
