LAS VEGAS — A woman stole an ambulance and led police on a 50-mile chase that ended in California, according to officials.
NBC Los Angeles reported that the ambulance was stolen while it was parked outside of a pharmacy. The unidentified woman who stole the vehicle led police on a chase down the highway.
Las Vegas police, Nevada Highway Patrol troopers and a police helicopter were all in pursuit of the vehicle. Police used spike strips to stop the ambulance, but it did not stop despite at least two tires being deflated.
The woman stopped the ambulance when she apparently realized police were going to use more spike strips.
No additional information has been released.
