AUSTIN, Texas — Austin-Travis County EMS special operations medics recently completed an “Operational K-9 Care” course developed by Capt. Jackson and approved by the chief medical officer, with instructions from Texas A&M and military veterinarians.

Partner agencies, including Texas DPS, Williamson County EMS, and several police departments, joined the training, which prepares medics to treat and stabilize K-9 officers in austere environments.
