PITTSBURGH — Paramedics assigned to the Hazardous Materials Medical Team completed their bimonthly training this week, with a focus on responding to radiological incidents.
The team reviewed radiation survey kits carried on both EMS Heavy Rescues and the Hazmat Decon Unit before taking part in scenario-based exercises designed to sharpen their response skills.
Officials said the training helps ensure Hazmat medics remain prepared to provide advanced medical care during hazardous materials emergencies.
