VILLA RIDGE, Mo. — Meramec Ambulance District crews treated several dogs rescued from a house fire while assisting area fire departments on Sept. 7.
EMS crews provided the animals with oxygen, water and a safe place to recover.
The district said previous training in caring for animals affected by structure fires helped crews provide treatment.
Paramedics and EMTs also monitored firefighters, homeowners and bystanders at the scene. No injuries were reported.
