Photo of the Week: 300+ Pa. first responders raise awareness for new “Move Over” law
First responders gathered to film a PSA about the state’s new law and remember 13 colleagues killed on roadways
Calling all EMS photographers! EMS1 wants to see pictures of you in action or training. Submit a photo — it could be selected as our Photo of the Week! Be sure to include your name, department information and some background on the photo.
This week’s Photo of the Week comes from Northwest EMS in Pennsylvania, which was one of dozens of public safety agencies in the state that participated in a PSA filming this week to raise awareness about the state’s new “Slow Down, Move Over” law.
More than 300 first responders and 150 emergency apparatus were featured in the PSA. During the filming event, participants also paid tribute to the 13 first responders across the nation killed in roadway incidents this year alone.
The event was coordinated by the Pennsylvania Statewide Traffic Incident Management Group (PennTIME). Pennsylvania’s new Move Over law creates stricter penalties for motorists who fail to slow down and move over for first responders and other road workers.
