AMES, Iowa — Mary Greeley Paramedics received a unique request to give an Ames resident an exceptional present on his 79th birthday.
According to a Facebook post, the care team of a 79-year-old quadriplegic asked paramedics to assist in taking the gentleman outside to see his garden grow.
His care team said he had not been out in eight years and he had not felt the rain on his face for that long.
Paramedics were delighted to assist and celebrate with his friends. The Facebook post said, “Thank you for letting us be a part of your birthday!”
