FLINT, Mich. — Two ambulance workers will be closely monitored for six months and were ordered to undergo eight hours of additional training after the pair allegedly failed to see a man in the driver’s seat of a car that crashed into a tree.
The Genesee County Medical Control Authority board met earlier this month and reviewed the actions of Mobile Medical Response – the Saginaw-based EMS company that responded to the July 18 crash that left 28-year-old Cortez Cheathams dead.
It took five calls to 911 – and 1 hour and 48 minutes – before Cheathams’ body was discovered slumped over in the front seat of the crashed car on North Chevrolet Avenue near West Jackson Avenue in Flint.
