EMS company welcomes medics from agency that shut down without notice

EMSA said its doors are open for those who lost their jobs when Oklahoma EMS Plus closed without warning

OKLAHOMA CITY — After an Oklahoma City ambulance company, EMS Plus, closed without notice, leaving its employees not only without a job, but also with bounced paychecks, a nearby EMS company offered help.

News 9 reported EMSA, the biggest ambulance company in the state, said their doors are open for EMS Plus former employees to apply.

“Even if we’re full, we’re still going to make some room,” said EMSA Operation Manager John Graham. “If they’re good applicants, and if they’re going to help us, we’re certainly going to help them.”

When EMS Plus shut down Nov. 30, it left 18 employees without a job.

“It’s hard to find another job with the same pay and the same hours, and it’s so close to Christmas,” said former employee and EMT Jennifer Terrett.

Officials with EMS Plus said they had to close the Oklahoma City officer because the managers weren’t following guidelines, however the owner of the company couldn’t be reached for the past week, according to News 9.
