SOLA, Norway — A kindergarten teacher in Norway has been dismissed after she bought in a vial of her own blood and let about 12 students touch and taste it.
Inger Lise Andersen, director of Dravhaug Kindergarten, said the unidentified teacher asked a nurse at a doctor’s office if she could have a vial of her blood to take with her to class.
The teacher than poured her blood sample on a plate for the children—age three to six—to look at, according to Reuters.
“The children asked if they could touch it and she allowed them,” Andersen told Reuters. “Then they asked ‘how do we get it off?’ so she put her finger in her mouth and the children followed suit.
Since the incident, the teacher, a temporary employee of the school has been tested for AIDS and Hepatitis B.
