Video: Crews rescue hiker after 25-foot fall

The hiker was with a group of four when he fell and landed on rocks

MYFOXATLANTA

DAWSON COUNTY, Ga. — Crews rescued a hiker who fell more than a dozen feet in the north Georgia Mountains on Friday.

The 22-year-old man was with a group of four who were climbing Cochran Falls, which is located about four miles from Amicalola Falls. Around 2:30 p.m., the man fell about 20 to 30 feet and landed on rocks, according to Lt. Ryan Bramblett of Dawson County Emergency Services.

Another member of the group called 911. Rescue crews from Dawson County Emergency Services teamed up with local fire departments and air support from the Department of Natural Services to rescue the rock climber.
