RISING SUN, Ind. — An EMT from Indiana has been missing since Monday morning.
WCPO.com reported Craig Whitham, 42, with Aurora Emergency Rescue, left behind his cell phone and wallet. His cousin, Angel Adams, said disappearing without telling anyone is out of character for Whitham.
“He is the most dependable, responsible person you can ever imagine. He’s been an EMT for 20 years. He was in the Army. He has worked at the hospital. His whole life has been about helping people,” said Adams.
Whitham’s friends started a Facebook page to spread the word about his disappearance. Police believe Whitham could be driving a silver 2014 Dodge Journey with Indiana veteran plate HW6348.
Prosecutors filed court papers asking for Whitham’s bank records just two days after he went missing, according to FOX19.com. They’re asking for records to see if he was involved in theft of funds at his department.
Family and friends have looked around town, but so far have discovered no sign of Whitham.
“It’s just a whole range of emotions. One minute, it’s ‘We know he’s OK, he’s probably just somewhere taking some time and he’s going to be OK,’ and then we are sad,” said Adams.
Police have few leads but are asking the public for help. Anyone with information on Whitham’s whereabouts is asked to call the Rising Sun Police Department at 812-438-3737.
