WITHROW, Canada — Three sisters died of asphyxia in the bed of a truck being loaded with canola seed while playing at their family farm.
Police said the girls were playing on a truck while it was being loaded with canola seed, but it was unclear how they were buried by it, CTV News reported.
The girls were pulled out by adults who called for help, but despite the effort of EMS providers, two girls aged 11 and 13 died at the scene.
Another 11-year-old girl was airlifted to the hospital in critical condition and later died.
Police said EMS, fire and police responders attempted at length to revive the children.
