WOODHAVEN, N.Y. — When it rains, it really pours on the Woodhaven-Richmond Hill Volunteer Ambulance Corps.
The group was forced to shut its doors last weekend after its headquarters got doused by melting snow from a neglected, partially-collapsed building next door.
“I heard a crack, like breaking wood,” said Kathy Sexton Dalby, the corps president, who was in the building on Saturday afternoon. “I got out, I just left. In almost 25 years I have never been afraid to be in that building.”
