SWANSEA, Mass. — Two people were hospitalized after a car crashed into a home in Swansea late Friday, according to authorities.

First responders went to the area of Bark Street and Ashmont Street in Swansea after a report about a car striking a building around 7 p.m. Friday. When firefighters arrived, they found the vehicle deep into a single-family home, the Swansea Fire Department said in a Facebook post.

Ambulance crews from Swansea and Somerset took the vehicle’s driver and the only occupant in the home to hospitals in the area to be evaluated, according to the department’s Facebook post.

Crews worked to secure the utilities in the house and used struts to stabilize the home, the department said in its Facebook post.

No further information about the crash was immediately released to the public by the department.
