BALTIMORE — The Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS) has announced a new start date for the first performance period of the Emergency Triage, Treat, and Transport (ET3) model.
The first ET3 period, which was delayed from its original start date in May 2020 due to the COVID-19 pandemic, will begin on Jan. 1, 2021, CMS said in a statement Wednesday.
Applicants selected to participate in the ET3 model will receive a revised Participation Agreement in mid-October of this year in preparation for the launch. CMS will post further updates about the program on its website.
“We are excited to work with you on our mission to test ways to improve the value and quality of emergency services for Medicare beneficiaries,” the CMS ET3 Model Team said in a statement.
