BOSTON, Mass. — Two people in danger of hypothermia and drowning were pulled out of the wintry waters of Dorchester Bay by cops on a Boston police boat after their kayaks capsized off Carson Beach.

“I saw the police pull them out. They had been waving and calling for help,” said Rick Joyce, 56, of South Boston.

The Boston Fire Department received a call at 1:45 p.m. yesterday reporting that two people had overturned their kayaks off the 1800 block of Columbia Road near the L Street Bathhouse, according to department spokesman Steve MacDonald.
