We’ve been accepting many of the evacuees from Fort McMurray here in Edmonton. Many of the fire and EMS departments here have also sent trucks and crews up to help. In this image are firefighter/EMTs from my department that were deployed to Fort McMurray to help. They just got back yesterday and we sent another eight up to help. The sense of camaraderie has been overwhelming, the support for the community and emergency workers really shows the true colors of our profession and my community here in Alberta.
