Ohio woman dies after crashing into ambulance

She was pronounced dead at the scene; three occupants of ambulance taken to hospital with non-life-threatening injuries

DELHI TWP., Ohio — A head-on collision with an ambulance transporting a patient left a woman dead Sunday morning.

Cincinnati.com reported that Courtney Stafford, 20, crossed the center line for unknown reasons at 2:03 a.m. and hit a private ambulance that was transporting a patient to a local hospital.

The ambulance was making a non-emergency run without lights or sirens operating, police said.

Stafford was pronounced dead at the scene and three occupants of the ambulance suffered non-life-threatening injuries and were transported to a hospital for treatment, according to the report.

Neither speed nor alcohol appear to factors in the crash, police said. The crash remains under investigation.
