PAMLICO COUNTY, N.C. — An off-duty paramedic has been charged with drunk driving after authorities say he moved an ambulance, hitting a parked vehicle.
Pamlico County deputies were originally called out because an intoxicated person in the water was having difficulty swimming Sunday around 1:00 a.m.
Sheriff Chris Davis says during the rescue, the off-duty paramedic--identified as Eric Kindle--moved the Pamlico Rescue ambulance from one side of the building to the other. Davis says during the process, Kindle struck a parked vehicle.
