CONCORD — Two paramedics were injured Monday night in a hit-and-run accident that caused their ambulance to overturn, police said today.
An AMR ambulance was traveling on Port Chicago Highway at Hickory Drive at 11:46 p.m. Monday when the ambulance was struck by a 1994 Infinity, Cpl. Kerry Cerletti said.
The ambulance, which was not carrying a patient, overturned and the paramedics suffered minor injuries. They received medical treatment at John Muir Medical Center in Walnut Creek and were released.
The driver of the Infinity abandoned his vehicle after the crash by running away. Police know who he is and anticipate make an arrest in the near future, Cerletti said.
