LAKE WORTH, Fla. — Eighteen ambulances had a sugar liquid poured into their gas tanks Thursday by a person wearing a ski mask, police said.
The person turned out to be a disgruntled American Medical Response employee, police said. Charges will be filed against him as soon as the damage is estimated, police said. A similar incident occurred at the company in the 1100 block of Barnett Drive, Nov. 15.
Some of the ambulances broke down while in operation, police said.
The suspect admitted to the felony criminal mischief, police said, and recovered the sugary liquid, ski mask, rubber gloves, and funnel from his car. He did not give police a motive but another employee said the suspect was upset with management at the company.
He has since been fired, police said.
