AUSTIN, Texas — Authorities are searching for a suspect after stealing an ambulance with EMS personnel and a patient inside.
Officials said the suspect drove off with the vehicle while crew members were tending to a patient.
Crew members updated police with their location and other details as the incident unfolded, reported KVUE. Shortly after taking the vehicle, the suspect pulled over and fled the scene on foot.
No one was injured in the incident. A second ambulance was called to the scene to transport the patient to the hospital.
The incident remains under investigation; it is the second time this month an Austin ambulance has been stolen.
