BATH, Maine — A firefighter-paramedic’s license was suspended after he pleaded guilty to responding to a medical call while under the influence of alcohol.

NY Post reported that James Perry, 55, was responding to a call about a suspected drowning in September while working as a paramedic for Mid Coast Hospital when police said they noticed signs of intoxication.

Perry was arrested, and police said his blood alcohol level was tested at .08 percent.

Police said it was later determined there was no drowning.

A hospital spokesperson said Perry is no longer employed there.

Perry was sentenced to a 150-day license suspension and ordered to pay a fine of $500.
