OAKFIELD TOWNSHIP, Mich. — The emergency crews who responded to a Thursday vehicle crash were hit by an alleged drunk driver.

A woman was transported via helicopter after she blew through a stop sign and was T-boned by a truck, reported FOX17.

Paramedics were able to stabilize her before loading her into the helicopter. The woman’s condition is not immediately available, although officials said her injuries were serious enough to call a medical helicopter

A firefighter had been blocking the road with his pickup truck and was directing vehicles away from the first crash scene when his truck was crashed into by the out-of-control driver.

Troopers arrived on scene and spoke to the driver, who admitted he had been drinking and did not see the flashing lights. He sustained minor injuries

The firefighter was uninjured.

Both crashes remain under investigation.
