The Lexipol COVID-19 Learning & Policy Center provides free online access to coronavirus-related courses, policies and articles for public safety and local government.

EMS, as well as their partners in fire, law enforcement and dispatch, are on the frontlines of the COVID-19 pandemic response. EMS professional associations, membership organizations and unions have stepped up to serve and represent the specific needs of EMTs and paramedics during this national emergency.

Use this directory to access websites, webinars and resources from top organizations including the National Association of EMTs and American Ambulance Association.

Coronavirus (COVID-19: Resources and links for EMTs and Paramedics

The National Association of EMTs encourage visitors to view and download the latest Federal Guidelines and Resources, State Resources and EMS Agency Resources. NAEMT is also calling on the U.S. Congress to directly support EMS during the pandemic. Use the NAEMT legislative advocacy service to message your senators and representative.

Support and advocacy for mobile healthcare providers during pandemic

The American Ambulance Association maintains a list of resources for field personnel, agency leaders and company owners. The AAA has also been collaborating with the NAEMT and other organizations to lobby for EMS needs during the pandemic with letter-writing campaigns, social media efforts and media outreach.

Sample COVID-19 protocols for EMS medical directors

The National Association of EMS Physicians has posted sample protocols for response, dispatch, clinical care, PPE and decontamination.

COVID-19 resources for state EMS officials

The National Association of State EMS Officials is sharing resources that have been reviewed and found to be helpful for EMS officials.

COVID-19 resources for EMS managers

The National EMS Managers Association is participating in weekly conference calls with NHTSA and compiling information and resources.

Coronavirus (COVID-19): Resources for Fire Chiefs

The IAFC resource page includes two dashboards, updated daily, on the Fire & EMS Impact and PPE availability. The IAFC site also includes links to its weekly webinars, PPE decon recommendations, and guide to planning a response.

Resources and support from industry suppliers

Many of the companies which sell services and products to EMS have launched new products, made in-kind or monetary donations, or offered their products at no cost during the pandemic. In addition, these companies have compiled data, resources or advocacy for EMS during the COVID-19 national emergency. Those organizations include:

  • FirstWatch offers webinar recordings, resources and information on surveillance and analytics.
  • Page, Wolfberg, and Wirth provides regular EMS law and COVID-19 updates through articles and webinars about Medicate reimbursement, HIPAA, staffing, employee leave, compensation and much more.
  • ESO data dashboard reports EMS surveillance data from more than 2,600 EMS agencies. The dashboard includes information on provider impression of patient illness, PPE used, airway interventions and medications administered.
