FLINT, Mich. — STAT EMS plans to cease operations by the end of the month and has been winding down its services and staffing.
Last week, the agency sent a letter to employees saying that all shifts after Saturday were canceled, ABC12 reported. STAT serves Genesee, Saginaw and Tuscola counties.
The city of Flint signed a contract with STAT to be its primary ambulance provider for the city last fall. The city has since withdrawn.
At the same time, the Michigan State Police are investigating potential financial crimes at STAT EMS, ABC12 also reported.
Owners Marc and Stephen Lund said the company would continue a very limited operation for the rest of March before shutting down entirely.
